South African-turned-South Australian trainers Gary and Dean Alexander believe the opening of their new stable at Murray Bridge can continue their upward trajectory as they establish Alexander Brothers Racing in Australia.

The siblings relocated to South Australia in early 2021 and have trained from temporary bases at both Morphettville and Gawler but will shift to Murray Bridge in the coming weeks in what they say is a new era for the training operation.

"We examined the available training and stabling facilities, and we kept coming back to the excitement that Murray Bridge is quickly becoming the centre of thoroughbred racing and training in South Australia,” Gary Alexander said.

“It's one of the fastest growing corridors in the state and now you can see it all coming together.

"We will have 60 boxes in a state-of-the-art training complex including private walkers, fantastic grass training tracks, a synthetic track, a sand track as well as an uphill sand track, an equine swimming pool and a racing club committed to success."

Dean Alexander said the scheduling of additional metropolitan meetings at Murray Bridge along with ease of access to interstate tracks made it an ideal location to train a consistent group of older horses and an exciting new young crop including recent purchases from yearling and ready to run sales across Australia and New Zealand.

"Murray Bridge will have seven stand-alone metro meetings next season including the Murray Bridge Cup moving to a Saturday. This will mean 22 race meetings in total for members, owners and locals to enjoy,” Alexander said.

"Our facilities will have room for interstate trainers to utilise when making forays to South Australia. We are seven hours to Melbourne and just six hours to Ballarat and Warrnambool. With the uplift in meetings and brilliant facilities we can see more travel to and from Victoria for all."
