Another first for Alexander Brothers Racing on Sunday as the stable travelled to Naracoorte to saddle up their first ever runner and it took no time for the team to land the winning blow.

NAMADJI had shown the stable that he was improving with every run and that he would be suited to the longer distances. The 4yo gelding confirmed this by winning at his first time over 2000m.

The lightly raced son of SIR PRANCEALOT jumped well from barrier 8 and was placed into a midfield position with cover throughout the early and middle sections of the race. JUSTIN POTTER then guided NAMADJI into clear running at the 600m mark before striding strongly through to the line for a hard fought win.

Gary Alexander said of the win " NAMADJI had shown us that he would really hit his straps as he got further out in trip this campaign. He is lightly raced and we had been patient as we knew he would deliver. He is now starting to mature in his body and that is going him the strength to go with it. "

"I am pleased for connections and the team at home. He is a bit of a favourite amongst the team as he's such a kind horse."

Dean Alexander shared "He's from a well proven South Australian family that includes BARACONI and DISAGREEABLE MISS and I knew he would be strong through to the line. He is another from our team who looks to be able to go on with it as he continues to mature."

The win delivered a 5th season winner from the stables past 13 runners in what looks the breakout season for the classy South African duo.
