4yo IMBIBE returned to racing at Morphettville yesterday and very quickly showed that she has the makings of a nice mare.
The mare was produced to win first up over 1550m and well supported in the market at $5.50.
"That was a very pleasing result for Dean and I today. We have worked very hard to find the right balance with our wonderful facilities at Murray Bridge and this win showed we are on the right path." Gary Alexander shared.
IMBIBE stalked the leader OCEAN RAIDER before Jason Holder asked the mare for an extra effort on turning. IMBIBE lengthened well and held her form strongly to the line to win kindly.

Dean Alexander said "She is a well bred mare with her dam Monopole being placed in the Tasmanian Oaks and was only beaten a few lengths in the Group 3 SA Classic, Jason Holder rode her that day so there's a nice back story to the horse and connections."
IMBIBE races in the 'light blue and red hoops' of the Hill-Smith Family and have a long association with supporting SA Racing and breeding.
It has been a bright week for Alexander Brothers Racing saddling up 2 winners in MICKLEWHITE and IMBIBE and they look forward to saddling up 3 chances on Monday at the Gawler meeting (Public Holiday).
