TAKE ME NORTH delivered a tenacious victory and landed ALEXANDER BROTHERS RACING their first Australian double when winning at Morphettville on Friday.
The 6yo has been with the team for just 9 starts and now won and placed on 4 occasions for the stable.
The lightly raced gelding by NEEDS FURTHER took plenty of improvement out of his first up run this campaign to deliver the 2nd up win over 1550m.
Tearaway leader HA SHE carried just 51kgs and led by 7 lengths with 600m to go when the current SA Premiership leading jockey JAKE TOEROEK asked TAKE ME NORTH to start cutting the margin down.
Carrying 58kgs TAKE ME NORTH dragged in the leader and held off the race favourite BIT OF A REBEL who carried 57.5kgs in a strong effort second up.

It was the 4th win from the stables last 10 runners and also highlighted their runners liking of the inner Morphettville Parks track with 6 of their 26 runners on the track winning and delivering a 23.1% winning strike rate.
The stables last few weeks highlighting that they have settled into their new stables on track at Murray Bridge and also enjoy the support of the states top senior jockeys in Jake Toeroek, Jason Holder and Callan Murray in these recent wins.
