As we near the offical start of the South Australian Autumn Racing Carnival, the quality of horses quickly rises to a new level.

Saturdays LISTED DEQUETTEVILLE STAKES meeting will provide an opportunity for the stable to saddle up two of their lightly raced youngsters.

3YO filly ANGELIC APPEAL has raced on 10 occasions for 2 wins and $91,335 in prizemoney.

Gary Alexander shared of the fillies lead up:

" She's shown us the talent to be nice filly. We were pleased with her work going into the CLARE LINDOP however she just came out of that feeling the ground that day."

"The 1550m and the 'Parks Circuit' could well be to her liking and the 2kg relief might well reward us."

The filly is listed as a $7.50 chance as at 5pm AEST with topsport.com.au

The second up performance of the stables 2YO filly SO GRAND came as no surprise to Dean Alexander last start - running 4th beaten .4 length.

" It was a matter of just forgiving her at her first start. She'd worked very well for us to believe she could compete at black type level as a 2YO. She lost her position not long after the gates opened and she'd never been in that position before."

"What you saw last start is much more like the filly. That was a great effort to jump from barrier 13 , sit wide and still look the winner not far from the line. She is brave and has come on from that run."

CALLAN MURRAY will again team with the Rubick filly where they have drawn more favourably.

SO GRAND is listed at $31 for the Listed Dequetteville Stakes $120,000
